Roommate barely cleans unless asked. Need advice.

Putting the gross flair because someone might find this a bit much. I (29M) have one roommate (27M) who I met through my current job when I had first started there. Long story short he got a place, I was looking for a new room to rent, and he needed help with his rent on the new place so I was asked to move in. I’ve been here for about a year and a half now and I can probably count on one hand (maybe two hands.. but only one other finger 🥲) how many times I’ve seen him pick up a broom or just clean anything in general. I try not to be an ass or make our living situation tense by being on him constantly about cleaning. I actually like to clean because I think I do a pretty decent job, however, doing it every time myself with no help from the person who also contributes to clutter and dirtiness can get old after a while. I try to clean the house once a week to not have it be overkill. Certain areas like kitchen at the most two times never more. I’m not going to post every dirty spot in the house but the bathroom we “share” is 100% the worse. I only use this bathroom to shower and nothing more. We have another one downstairs that I immediately go to after getting out of the shower to continue with getting ready for day. I keep the downstairs bathroom clean as that is basically not much of a shared place in the house. My roommates bathroom is a different story though. The pictures will speak for themselves. He has hair EVERYWHERE. We also have a lovely pile of dead ants I cause a spider has been killing because we also have an ant problem he won’t help with either… If I bring friends over or god forbid a girl comes over and they happen to want to use the restroom I would be extremely embarrassed with the condition my roommate leaves it in. I’ve approached him calmly about contributing to cleaning. I basically said, “Hey man, I have been cleaning the house a lot myself without much help. Is there anyway we can talk about a cleaning routine we can switch off or something like that?”. He just kind of made a grumbling noise and said yeah sure then nothing more. I’m going to say something again but I wanted some opinions on how you guys would handle something like this…

TLDR; roommate doesn’t clean jack shit and I would like him to help. Talked about helping once and want to do it again. Looking for some advice please.
