AmEx Plat -> Marriott Gold -> Wyndham Diamond -> Caesar's?

Wyndham recently re-opened status matching. I've now matched to Wyndham Diamond. But now apparently Caesar's isn't giving status to anyone who earned Wyndham status via matching. Are there workarounds? What are your (recent) experiences?
