Does everyone who has their mobile through iiNet get the "Urgent information regarding your device" email every week

I have my mobile through iiNet. Every week I get this email. I have rung them and given them my mobile details and it is capable of 4G and they acknowledge this. I have asked them to stop sending the weekly emails. I used to get an SMS as well, but after the first time I rang them I no longer get the SMS.

I have rang support 3 times. The first 2 times after confirming my mobile is OK, they said they would put in a request to stop the emails. The third time the guy said that EVERYONE WITH THEIR MOBILE WITH IINET IS GETTING THE EMAIL WEEKLY. I called BS on that. Is iiNet seriously sending this to every mobile customer every week.

I am concerned because the email says you will be blocked if not compatible.

"Hello <my name>,

3G networks have shut down in Australia and your device is still identified as unable to make emergency 000 calls.

It is urgent you update your device software to keep making emergency 000 calls and using your handset.

New regulations require devices not compatible with emergency calling on 4G networks to be blocked from using voice, SMS and data services. Update your software now to make emergency 000 calls.

Note: Do NOT make an emergency 000 call to test your device unless you are facing a genuine emergency.

Kind Regards, The iiNet Team"
