Centennial, who has finished this?

Bought this book and stopped shortly after starting. The recording by Larry McKeever (Books on Tape) seems incredibly dated. I don’t mind over 40 hours (about to finish The Stand), but it seems daunting with the recording quality.

Can anyone tell me it is worth the time invested to get through this book? The subject really seems interesting.
