Working memory improvement?

All my life I’ve had a terrible working memory which has been detrimental to my progress and improvement in various things. One example is that I can’t read books or do mental math, because I constantly forget things I’m trying to hold in my mind for that moment and I can’t properly remember it in conjunction with everything else.

I don’t want to do exercises to get past the fact I have a bad working memory (which is what ChatGPT wants me to do) I simply want to improve my working memory and bring it to par with everyone else.

I’m a very intellectual person and have a lot of technical skills, so the fact that this is the only thing holding me back really bothers me.

Does anyone have any solutions? Or do you deal with the same issue? How does it affect your life and what are the details about it that you’re willing to share?
