(Spoilers Published)Daemon and his relationship with Strong boys?

I have not read fire and blood through the Dance and I do not want to until the the show has concluded so I would like to avoid spoilers, however I was wondering what is Daemons relationship with Jace, Luke and Joff? I assume it isn’t horrible but I just kind of feel like he is just kind of their great uncle who is also their step dad??? I think he would defend those boys but he isn’t particularly warm to them if that makes any sense. I am curious what other people think?
