Am I a creep?

I saw this add on Instagram about an Ai app that allows for body editing. Gives people abs and things. I found the account in the comments. I felt that I could dm the person to see if we liked each other. First time I ever do that. It was new years and I felt confident. He did not respond for a bit. He liked when I commented that he looked good in his stories. He told me that he had a boyfriend. I apologized and then asked if he could recommend some places to visit where he’s from because I wanted to go, obviously not to see him. He didn’t respond. I commented on his page that he looked good and that what he was wearing was a nice color and that I was wearing the same color. He asked me to stop writing, I unfollowed. I just felt like a total creep. My body was sweating. Also I dm some people how they knew my friend and that I liked their art work. I am an artist. A guy called me a stalker. I have zero experience with dms. I always hear people meeting on Instagram. Please help.
