Seeking Advice: Best Degree or Course to Study Singapore’s Transformation
Hello everyone,
I am very interested in studying a degree or course that provides a comprehensive understanding of Singapore’s remarkable transformation and the key factors behind its success. My goal is to explore how Singapore evolved into a global economic powerhouse through effective governance, strategic planning, and visionary leadership.
I am looking for a degree program or course that covers the following areas in depth:
Economic Development and Policies – Understanding Singapore’s rapid economic growth, industrialization strategies, trade policies, financial sector development, and how government interventions shaped its economy.
Urban Planning and Housing Projects – Exploring how Singapore managed land use, developed world-class infrastructure, and implemented successful public housing policies through agencies like the Housing Development Board (HDB).
Public Policy, Governance, and Reforms – Learning about the strategic planning, policy-making processes, governance models, and major reforms that contributed to Singapore’s stability, efficiency, and long-term success.
I would appreciate recommendations on which major or field of study would be the best fit for covering these topics. Should I consider Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Urban Planning, or a combination of these?
Additionally, if you know of any bachelor’s degrees, master’s programs, or even short courses in Singapore that focus on these subjects, I’d love to hear your suggestions.
Thank you in advance for your insights and recommendations!
