So honestly though, is Officer retention really that bad?
Today, me and a bunch of other Lieutenants were instructed to appear at the DFAC for lunch to speak with our Brigade Commander about the AIM Marketplace. The reason for this, is apparently we were told that officer retention isn't great, and too many people were going over to the civilian side of things and that we should try exploring the Marketplace for different experiences.
We were even asked, how many of us Lieutenants were planning on getting out of the army and id say almost half raised their hands. Some said because of multiple factors, others because of the unit, but this got my mind thinking:
Is officer retention really an issue or is it overblown?
