Alaverdi name change to it's original Manasgomer or Manits Gom?

I’m curious if anyone agrees with changing Alaverdi’s name back to its original Armenian medieval name, Manasgomer or Manits Gom. Alaverdi echoes the legacy of Turkic invasions and oppression of Armenians, especially since it likely originates from the name of a Turkic tribal leader, Allahverdi. Given that we’re an indigenous people of Alaverdi, there's no reason to honor this man, and the name only serves as a reminder of past imperialism on our nation. If I had to guess it won't change, but I guess it's interesting to know if enough people, especially those living in Armenia, even care to petition for such a change.
