UPDATE: After giving my resignation letter on Monday, my head supervisor went to the top director today. The director said they don't want me to leave, will let me work remotely, and will work on getting me a better position.

My resignation letter is no longer valid, nor needed. I now get to work remotely for as long as my supervisor wants me and she made it very clear to me in front of the top director that she wants me to continue working with her.

In the end, I get my wish and my supervisors are advocating for me. I've had several of them volunteer to provide references for me for any job I want.

I never thought I was that valued by my organization, and today really proved that I am. For the record, my organization has over 15,000 employees. It was positively surprising to hear the director wanting me to stay when I have never had a conversation with them before.

I want to thank every single person who commented on my previous post. It helped me build confidence and showed me what I need to do in the future. Negotiating a contract will be the next step or I'll get a better job. If anyone has tips on that, I'd really appreciate it.

I have to add that I also came across people I trusted who aren't entirely happy that I'm getting this privilege. I just hope they see that I am doing them a favour by continuing with the company, otherwise they'd have my work to do.

I'm just really happy I get to work remotely, which would have never been possible if I didn't tell them I'm resigning.

To anyone out there struggling, definitely have a job lined up if you decide to quit unless you can afford a break. Also, get everything in writing. I hope my situation helps others to take a stand for themselves.

Stay strong and have courage! :)
