Just reread ACOTAR
I just finished rereading ACOTAR and I don't really see what's wrong with TamTam (before Under the Mountain, I mean). The funny thing is that I am one of those (apparently) few people who didn't like him when I first read the book because I kept finding red flags everywhere. But now that I read it again I don't see them anymore. I think maybe the main reason why I never liked him is because I could tell he was hiding something, but now I know it's because he couldn't tell Feyre due to the curse. I still find the scene at Calanmai where he bites her neck really cringe, but at the same time I can sort of understand it.
What really gave me the ick (to say the least) is when they are under the mountain and Tamlin finally approaches Feyre and immediately tries to bang her. She has been locked in a dungeon for almost three months and has almost died twice, all to try to save your furry stupid ass, and that's the first thing you do when you're alone with her? That's when I completely gave up on him, even the first time I read the book, and it obviously hasn't changed now. But everything before that, when they were at the Spring Court... I can't see what's wrong with his behaviour anymore.
I don't remember how I felt about it the first time, but now I find everything about Tamlin to be hilarious. Like when he roars (both in Fae or beast form) all I can think about is Ron Weasley when he eats a magic candy that makes him sound like a lion. Or the mask, that's just so funny to me. And his beast form? He's as big as a horse (but it also says bear sometimes), with a feline body but a wolf head and horns like a stag? Everytime I picture it I can't help but laugh. And one scene that I did not remember but loved: when Feyre is wandering the woods and realises he's following her, so she sets up a trap and next thing he knows he's hanging upside down by an ankle. Hilarious.
I'm so happy I get to read ACOMAF again now, mostly because I can't wait to see Feyre develop and grow. Throughout the first book her whole personality is basically just painting. She literally never stops talking about it. Even while she's being tortured or beaten or stuff like that, she thinks about how she would never be able to paint whatever is in front of her. She repeats something like 10 times in 5 chapters (I'm exaggerating here but you see my point) that her only dream has been for Nesta and Elain to marry so she could live with their father and have enough money to paint all day. We get it, no need to write it in every single page.
Anyway, really looking forward to ACOMAF cause I miss the inner circle (the bat boys mostly tbh).
