Dating Apps and Teaching Advice Sought.
I am new to the dating scene (6 weeks more or less) and have enjoyed my summer activities a great deal...however, with semester starting up again, I would hate to think students are reading my profile...and worse, liking it! The dating apps will allow you to filter out people of a given age range that you see in your search but they do not allow you to say "Don't show me to anyone under 26". I realize that would not be fool-proof but it would reduce the awkwardness factor.
Should I go in anonymous or invisible mode? Should I heavily redact my profile? Should I put a note in the profile incase students see it (I have seen some therapists do this)? Should I not even worry about it?
Anyone with experience with this? In particular, have any women identified or LGBTQ+ faculty with advice would greatly be appreciated!
