How good is Ziggs?

New player here. Ziggs seems like the cutest yordle out there and I would like to main him but after a couple of games, it seems hard to have a bigger impact on the game. Also, according to some tierlists "there champions with similar kits and playstyles but they provide more for a team". Should I keep playing him?
