SLOW loss, am I doing this right?
First time posting here but I read a lot of your posts and comments.
I feel like I am a super-slow loser and feel frustrated. I started at 296 (Dr’s office scale) and as of this morning am at 284. My scale at home showed a starting weight of 301. I started on 2.5mg the 2nd week of October 2024 and have titrated up and am now on 10mg. I saw my dr for a follow-up on 1/2 and she said “only 9 lbs lost” which made me feel like crap. She did say we are moving in the right direction though.
I am tracking calories and hitting my protein goals most days and know my appetite has decreased quite a bit since being on this med. I’m cooking almost all meals at home vs the takeout and fast food I was eating pre-Zep and I barely drink alcohol anymore. Dr has me on 1200-1400 calories but the TDEE shows 1 lb/week weight loss at 1,786 calories. I feel so confused by where I should be with calories. I read here and see people eating 800-1200 calories and being very restrictive. I struggle to do that.
Despite the scale not moving as much as I’d hoped, I can see my waist getting smaller, bras feeling too big, tips fitting better.
I know this is a marathon and not a sprint but I feel defeated seeing so many success stories and I’m barely losing.
