Will we ever find out what happened to the investigation of the wolves?

We spend 45 mins last season on the killing, coverup and investigation of the national park wolves.

We have currently spend 5 minutes on some new no name ranch hand no one has ever heard of after 8 years of watching this show. I’m hoping they spend at least 1 minute explaining what happened to the wolf investigation before the series ends. I know I’m asking Santa too much for Christmas but I can hope that there is hope.
