Start-up chimes

Does anyone know if the start-up chimes are supposed to play each time the car is started? Mine don’t and I haven’t been able to discern what the trigger is for them to play if they’re not? For example, some mornings I’ll start the car to head to work and they won’t play but then I’ll stop to grab a coffee on the way and they’ll play when I start the car that time. Other mornings they’ll play on initial startup. It’s not reserved just to the mornings, I have the same inconsistency when I’m out running errands, etc. I wasn’t sure if something like the doors being locked vs unlocked before startup might make a difference.
