Had my first gyno appointment and she couldn’t do the pap cause I have vaginismus

So , I’ve had irregular periods for years, as well as hirsutism but I dealt with it cause I couldn’t afford a gyno . Well last Nov 2024 , I bled every day for a month , it stopped for a week and then I had the heaviest period ever , clots the size of quarters and bigger , and it felt as if all I had to do was flex wrong and it made me flow more . So I made an appointment Jan 6 , I get there and she was able to do a pelvic and bimanual exam but couldn’t do the pap . When she tried to insert the speculum it was so painful , it felt like I was being torn apart from my vagina to my urethra and both sets of lips stung . Turns out I have vaginismus and have to have pelvic floor therapy . What’s weird tho is I had an ultrasound a week after and the tech tried and was almost successful getting the transvaginal wand in . I had to have her do a little bit at a time and had her stop a couple times so I could breathe and try to relax muscles. She had to stop before she got into the uterus tho . I was laying there thinking, how long is the “tunnel” down there ? What worries me is how I’ll ever have sex . I grew up very conservative and never hooked up , now at almost 31 I wish I had , then it might not be so tight there .
