[Orient] Sun & Moon RA-AK0306S30B. My first mechanical watch!

Hey guys, until very recently I had a layman’s understanding of watches. You know, the mentality of “oh, I like the dial color so I’m buying it”. However, these days while scrolling youtube I encountered Teddy Baldassarre’s channel and I was surprised at the amount of brands and innovations there are around watches outside of the gigantic established brands like Rolex and Patek.

I’m a car guy so seeing the enormous market propositions and how there are brands that add value to your money just like in the automotive world really caught my eye. It also interested me how the mechanical vs. quartz debate is very similar to the ICE vs. electric in cars. Anyways to make a long story short, I recently put the money for my first mechanical watch and I couldn’t go for other than Orient. Not only because the movement is in-house but rather because I’m getting a mechanical watch, with date/day/AM&PM complications, and a sapphire crystal. All under a $1000 which is amazing.

Now, I have been stung by the watch bug and would like to build a collection of my own!
