What is the reason behind only doing partial Rx fills. Is there really that much financial benefit to Walgreens to do this.
Okay, I'm on several maintenance medications that I fill quarterly. I call in my refills about two weeks before I run out in case it is going to take extra time to get my medicine. Since June, when I call in the auto system tells me they need two or three days to fill the Rx. However, they always call me the next day telephone me I've got a partial fill. The problem is that they refuse to complete the fill until I've picked up the partial fill. In October I I waited a week before I picked up the partial fill thinking they would finish it, but they didn't. This was the second time. Th 90 day supply is $65, but two partial fills $100 ($43.72 &$56.28 respectively).
First question: Why do they do this?
Second: Is this Walgreens Policy, just an idiot at my store?
Third: Is there some financial benefit to Walgreens in doing this?
Fourth: Where do I file a complaint about this. I live in Virginia and the Virginia health department only accepts complaints against individual health practitioners.
