Grounding/Bonding with Victron Quattro in USA question.
Thanks for reading.
I have a solar panel array mounted to unistrut 30 feet from my main house service entrance. The metal unistrut and the panel frames are bonded together with copper wire.
I have a single Quattro 48V/ 5000V / 70A charger/inverter located next to the array. It is also about 30 feet from the main service panel. Charger works great for the 48V battery connected to it.
The A/C input for the charger is connected to 120v/60hz USA receptacle (outlet) in an outdoor rated waterproof box that is properly grounded. The wires from the receptacle where the Victron is plugged in run back to the main service panel 30 feet away, and have a breaker on the load inside the main service panel, and the neutral goes to the neutral bus bar, and the ground goes to the ground bus bar inside the main panel. The ground in the main panel is connected to the earth ground rod below the service panel. This panel has been installed for 50+ years.
My question is: Can I connect the copper grounding wire from the unistrut (metal) / PV panel frames to the ground terminal on the bottom of the victron quattro, or do I need to run a 6 gauge copper wire from my unistrut over to the main earth ground below the service panel?
