Just got fired. Never should have taken the promotion.
Throw away account for obvious reasons.
I've been at this company since May 2023.
I got promoted in September and the work load was more than I could handle and I didn't have the knowledge to complete the work efficiently. Instead of wasting time training me they decided to hire new candidates who did have the knowledge. I asked if I could demote myself and they said there was no longer a position.
I'm so mad at myself for thinking I could handle it, but mostly just terrified at the moment. The raise for 3x the work load wasn't justified at all but I was hoping it would help me long term in my career.
I'm the bread winner of my family and seasonal depression doesn't help. Finding that job was already difficult.
I'm feeling motivated to find a new job and also jump off a bridge at the same time.
They've offered 2 week severance so I'm giving myself a week to find a new job.
Not sure what I want with this post but hopefully even gaining just a little bit of hope that things will be alright I guess.
TLDR: Bit off more than I could chew
