DHgate jersey review (Veggie being HIM)

Good day lads,

This post is a follow-up to an older thread regarding DHgate jerseys quality, in which I commented that I would provide a review of the product I ordered once I would receive it. After a month-long strike at Canada Posts, it finally arrived this morning, so let's have a look!

Ordered on: October 14th

Received on: December 18th *** the package was stuck in Vancouver BC from Nov 12 to Dec 17 due to the strikes, and then took 2 days to make its way to MTL. Make that about a month for shipping to Canada in normal conditions. For shipments to the US, I read it's around 3 weeks.

Seller: pk_jersey

Customization: Home, Men's size L, 70 Vejmelka

Review: I have seen many fake jerseys in the past, this one is definitely quite convincing. There are no obvious flaws or defects all around. The nameplate, logo and numbers are spaced adequately. Exempt of typos as well, so that's a plus! Texture quality feels on point to my not-very-sharp-eyes and hands, superior to what you would find on Reebok Premiers for instance. I do not own any Adidas-era Breakaway units so I cannot compare to these, but materials don't feel cheap or stiff. Fight strap is acceptable; just "being there" suits me. Sleeves striping is good enough, spacing is legit and equal on both sides. Bottom striping quality is identical, but the white parts are misaligned by about 1/8 of an inch on one side. Other minor stitched parts may appear to have been a bit rushed out, for instance the collar does seem a tad rotated around the neck opening. No big deal to me, but could be a small annoyance to others.

L-Sizing is comparable to the other Reebok Edge larges I own. I prefer my jerseys to be just big enough to fit over a winter coat. That means it is a big baggy over a hoodie, which I like, but way too roomy to wear over say just a t-shirt. To each their own; point is you can stick to the actual NHL sizing, no worries!

I did have to specifically ask the seller for the inaugural patches since they did not appear on the product thumbnail. However the seller was extremely responsive and the right patches were indeed added correctly, as requested. The quality seems fair to me, they look legit enough although some stitching wires, which are apparently not visible on the real thing, do stick out at some places. The patches are sewed and not heat pressed, as is everything else on the jersey actually (numbers, nameplate, front and fanatics logo...). Speaking of which, the quality of all of the items listed above is impressive.

The front NHL crest is alright, but I will admit a well-trained eye could probably tell the difference from up-close. The "Fanatics" tag inside the collar is probably its biggest flaw, but I didn't buy that thing to show off the neck label, am I 😁 I am also aware that the shade of blue in the DHgate jerseys might be a notch darker and more saturated than on NHL store jerseys. This is well covered in previous jersey topics. I am not worried about this since I do not expect to cross many other Utah jerseys here in MTL, but it might be an element worth considering for those who plan to attend several home games!

Conclusion: Could this DHgate jersey fool an avid NHL jersey collector? Unlikely. Do I care? Absolutely not. Other than a slight potential color mismatch within a group of Fanatics, none of the above is truly noticeable unless studied from up-close. Will I proudly wear my jersey to show my suppory for a team I love and for favourite player, while not being afraid to trash it a bit when playing outdoor hockey considering the price point? You bet! I will never deter anyone from acquiring the real thing from the NHL store or Delta Center though; genuine sweater obviously offer the best QC. I believe it is up to your criteria, quality standards and budget!

Feel free to ask in the comments if any of you have questions on the product or the buying process. In the meantime, happy shopping clubbers! 🏒
