Why are drivers allergic to letting me change lanes?
Like good God people, I'm from Cali, I've never seen this in any other state. In most states, when you put on your turn signal, people actually let you get over. Out here, I'm not making this up, if there's someone in that lane, they'll actually speed up to get alongside you and pass you. It's insanely idiotic, it's like "How dare you try to enter my lane! I'm more important than you so I won't let you over!!" It's like 80% of the freaking time.
I'm also openly a left lane camper, in the left lane often driving under the speed limit. Why? Not because I want to, but because I know for a freaking fact of I have to make a left turn, I'll have my signal on for 100 years and none of those idiots will let me get over, my personal record is 17 cars, 17 cars seeing me trying to get over, and flying by me instead rather than letting me merge. I've missed so many turnoffs and exits because of this shit. So now I camp the left lane, don't like it, go around. If you actually let me turn, I wouldn't have to.
Actually let people get over, it's actually more relaxing to slow down to let someone in, and far more courteous. Sorry for the rant, but this happens every single freaking time I try to drive somewhere.
