Dressing for Cold Weather

Well here goes - my trip that is 2 years in the making is coming up next week and the weather is looking to be in the upper 40’s and raining. I have never “theme parked” in cold weather. Can anyone just tell me what to wear? I’m from Chicago so winter coats aren’t a problem but just trying to determine if that is practical in the parks. It will be me and my 2 kids and they love the roller coasters so I assume we need to be a little scarfed up? Thank you!!
