International students using ChatGPT in formal exams? WTAF?

I’m a cs masters student, just want to rant tbh. Just sat an exam where literally 50%+ of the class were on phones, phones ringing, talking, using ChatGPT on the University computers??? while we were supposed to be in the exam?? Being told by the invigilator to stop, and continuing!!

This whole semester i’ve seen lecturers be disrespected in a way i’ve never seen in my undergrad (which was mostly home students). However, this year people have turned up 30 min+ late to lectures, disrespected exam conditions and have just had no respect for course mates or staff.

Not to mention that most of these people don’t know how to speak english. English isn’t my first language either, but the way people who are literally not qualified to take a course in taught English yet are somehow here is totally beyond me.

Just seems incredibly unfair that home students have to suffer with group project mates who do nothing, plagiarise and then violate exam conditions and we simply don’t have enough staff to punish everyone who does it. Feels like my education is getting impacted by people who cheated their way here, and will cheat their way to a masters degree :/
