A couple thoughts on easily overlooked things:
No matter how hard I try, in the last year I do not seem to leave a hotel, motel or bed and breakfast without leaving one element of my iphone charging system behind. So I'm buying like 4 new sets off Amazon because they are so cheap and just dedicating them to my go bag set up.
Second, if you've not gotten yours yet, the government is still mailing 4 free covid test kits from : https://special.usps.com/testkitsGood to have on hand as the virus is still around, and Lord knows if anyone in your family is going on a cruise, you don't want to buy them on ship for $100 each. You can bet RFK will cancel culture these immediately
Finally a small sewing kit makes sense to pack in case you rip your jeans or hoodie. THose of you who have hotel freebies stashed under the bath room sink can transfer some into your go bag, and if you don't, just roll some thread off a spool onto something and stick a needle or two in it.
A reminder to those planning to go off the grid in the deep woods, ticks are now out all year. You should have square nosed tweezer with you to pull it out and some alcohol to clean tweezers and the bite site.
If looking for an all purpose disinfectant for cuts, pet bites, etc, a bottle of iodine is what the ER uses. Pour some in a plastic cup and let your cut finger soak in it for 3o mins, rinse off and bandage. Long shelf life.
