The public art of the WTC before and after

  1. The Sphere by Fritz Koenig sat proudly in the center of the Tobin Plaza
  2. While battered, The Sphere survived the collapse of the towers
  3. And now sits at Liberty Park across from the WTC
  4. Bent Propeller by Alexander Calder moved several times before resting in front of WTC 7
  5. Remains of the Bent Propeller were found in the rubble
  6. One of the pieces of Bent Propeller is on display at the 9/11 memorial museum
  7. A memorial to the 1993 bombing by Elyn Zimmerman sat over the site of the bombing in front of the Marriott
  8. Only a chunk of the memorial was recovered and is now on display at the museum
  9. Cloud Fortress by Musayuki Nagare sat at the Church St entrance to the plaza
  10. While Cloud Fortress did survive the attack it was destroyed to allow emergency services to reach the site
  11. Ideogram by James Rosati sat between the towers and was never recovered
  12. The World Trade Center Tapestry by Joan Miro and Josep Royo, sat in the lobby of the south tower and was never recovered
  13. Sky Gate New York by Louise Nevelson sat in the lobby of the north tower and was never recovered
