The game isn't being DELETED after the city update... right?

When I heard the game would be finished, my interpretation was "no more updates, this is a complete game"

But the way a lot of people here are reacting, it seems like the common interpretation is "we're deleting the game once it's done and you never get to play again"

Am I way off base here, or are people severely overreacting?
