Im just a girl, inheriting tools and want a basement toolbox.

And it's all in plastic gallons bins(20) and driving me crazy and I don't do housework. But I want to keep any weird tool I get and maybe store a lot of the stuff my parents have accumulated over the years DIYing our ancient house.

Budget: 1k, but I don't think I need all that.

Considerations: it should have its own surface with maybe guards so I don't drop stuff on the basement floor. I'm 4'11" so it can't store a lot of stuff high cause I'm less prone to reach for it. I also don't like carrying more than 20lbs of anything at a time.

Space: unlimited, it's gonna go in my basement. I already have a workbench there with a vice that came with the house. No pegboard wall though.

Kinds of tools: I'm getting things like handsaw, staple guns, light stuff a sawing bench(?) and hand held sanding thing. For those big ones that have their own sturdy plastic box I'm just gonna keep them in there on shelves next to the tool box. Wrench sets and a variety of other complete random tool sets with lots of sizes which could fit in drawers I think?

Generally I want to keep any accessories (oils? Bits? Attachments that aren't standard?) and minor tool sets in this box. I do want to keep the tools tidy even if I don't use them cause my uncles and FIL are handy. If I keep them in order and functioning they'll do whatever the house needs. They just don't generally have the tools or where to store them and are really transient.

Also, is that how you use a tool box? Or only have on hand what you use daily?
