Quick TL;DR Guide for G-Max Kingler
TL;DR for Kingler G-Max Battles
There have been a few long posts about Max battles lately and I think they kind of miss the point a bit, so here's everything the average person needs to know about Fighting G-Max Kingler in a (hopefully) quick and easy read. To keep it brief I won't explain my reasoning or math in the main post, but can if requested.
Small Phase
The goal of the Small Phase is to survive and build max meter. Don't worry about damage.
Make sure your tank resists the boss's attacks and (ideally) has a 0.5 speed fast move to build meter faster. (List in comments)
Don't ever use your charge move, pretend they are not there.
Dodge by swiping once and pray that there is no lag.
If your team is wiped out, spam tap the cheer button (even during the big phase).
Big Phase
Most people will be attacking in this phase, but you should plan on brining at least one tank with Max Guard 3 to help soak damage during the small phase.
If you are attacking, swap to your strongest counter from this list and click max attack 3 times:
- Name - max attack damage (assuming level 40, Rank 3 Max move)
- G Toxtricity - 633
- G Venusaur - 560
- D Zapdos - 556
- D Toxtricity - 493
- G Gengar - 461
- D Venusaur - 435
If you are going to tank, leave your tank in during the first Big Phase and press Max Guard 3 times. In subsequent Big Phases, swap to your attacker unless your tank's shields are getting low.
Example Team
- G Venusaur - Vine Whip - Tank/back up attacker
- G Blastoise - Bite - Back up Tank
- G Toxtricity - Spark - Big Phase Swap in Attacker
Now power up your pokemon and try not to be dead weight. Look up the guide for min/maxing your particles for that day so you can do a bunch of free raids.
Edit something I forgot to mention is for G-Max: When you have 20+ other people, powering up to Level 30-35 and Max attack 2 is fine (unless you're trying to shortman the fight). Don't get too caught up with IVs, they don't make a huge difference. Basically, if you put some effort into building you team you will be successful.
