Whose responsible for damaged chair?

Landlord used to live in this shared townhome. The chair in the backyard is his. He moves out and doesnt bring it home. The lease doesnt say anything about the townhome being furnished. The chair is teared up. Landlord moves back in since a room is available. He sees the chair doesnt do anything for months and moves out again without bringing the chair.

I move out and I see the deduction for the chair is being split between all 3 tenants. I didnt cause the damage. I ask landlord for the receipt of the chair and picture of new chair. He doesnt respond. I ask a tenant if the chair at the place has been replaced. They say no its still here. Did you have to pay for the chair replacement. They said no.
