Wife's 7 year old account got deleted for NO reason - super weird especially since she had premium subscription recently

As a person who was recently dealing with my MILs account issue (a bot got control over her account and was sending spam to all the friends) where she wasn't able to recover access for more than a week despite having access to a phone number and email (the bot was simply deleting that device from the settings the second they logged in), and got really suspicious about Telegram's security and lack of support, I'm really annoyed today.

My wife had an account for more than 7 years and ONLY used it in conversations with close friends and reading the news. She never posts anything in group chats, never leaves comments in channels, nothing - we literally just use it with a close friend group.

Today she had a Telegram video call with her mom, and then 10 minutes later send a message to our friend - received notification along the lines that "at this time you can only add messages to mutually added contacts", and was immediately logged out - trying to login, receives a message that "this number is banned".

She did use the standartized template to send an email to [email protected], but as someone who never received reply from their support when dealing with MILs issue, I don't have high hopes.

I always treated Telegram as a safe space and had a ton of important data saved in conversations with my wife and Saved Messages - guess I wouldn't be trusting it this much any longer.

TLDR: my wife's account has been banned for absolutely no reason, she used to be a premium user, had 0 interactions with strangers and never installed any bots.
