It's the only good place for it.

Got a new house, living room has one semi-solid wall, but it's across from a west-facing window so the glare would be horrible. Plus, I like having the windows uncovered for the dogs (and myself) who like to look outside.

Another pro for above the fireplace is that we can see it from the dining room & kitchen so the whole space is interactive and open.

Any recommendations (removing the fireplace is not an option so please leave those out lol) or suggestions to improve what we can?
