My What if series first pilot episode is complete (check description). EPISODE 0 : “ WHAT IF DAYA AND BABITA’S BODY SWAPPED DUE TO A CURSE” ‘ Curse of the tilismi saari’.
It's a sunny afternoon, and Daya Bhabi and Babita decide to go shopping together at a newly opened market. They’re excited to explore the various shops, especially since they haven’t had a chance to hang out much lately. As it had been a long time since Babita had bought something traditional for herself.
Daya:"Arre Babitaji, aapko pata hai, maine suna hai yaha pe bohot achi sariyon ki dukaan hai! Chaliye, waha pehle chalte hai!"
Babita:"Bilkul, Daya bhabhi! Aur waha ek antique shop bhi hai, jaha se main kuch unique decor lene ka soch rahi thi."
As they wander through the market, they stumble upon a small, mysterious antique shop tucked away in a corner. The shop has a peculiar aura, and the items inside seem to have an old, almost eerie vibe.
Daya:"Babitaji, yeh dukaan kuch ajeeb lag rahi hai, na?"
Babita:"Haan Daya bhabhi, lekin dekhne mein nuksan kya hai? Chaliye, andar chalke dekhte hai!"
They enter the shop and are greeted by an old shopkeeper resembling nattu kaka but with a mustache and a cryptic smile.
With all sorts of old, dusty artifacts. Daya and Babita browse through the items, intrigued by the odd collection. As they explore, a beautifully embroidered sari catches Daya’s eye. The sari is intricately designed, with vibrant colors that seem to shimmer even in the low light.
Daya:"Babitaji, dekhiye yeh sari kitni sundar hai! Aise lagta hai jaise isme kuch khaas baat hai! Aapko pata hei meri Ahmedabad wali choti mausi ke paas bhi bilku esi he sari thi , par ye kuch zaada he chamak rahi hei!"
Babita:"Haan, Daya bhabhi! Yeh toh bahut hi unique lag rahi hai. Aapko leni chahiye!Mera bhi man kar raha hei ise try karne kaa! Omg bohot sundar hei ye."
Daya picks up the sari and admires its craftsmanship. Just as she does, the old shopkeeper approaches them.
Shopkeeper: *"Yeh sari aapko pasand aayi, madam? Lekin iske saath ek kahani judi hai… ek purani kahani."
The shopkeeper begins to tell them the tale of the sari. It once belonged to a queen who was known for her unmatched beauty but also for her deep insecurities. The queen, in a fit of jealousy, cursed the sari so that anyone who wore it would experience life from a different perspective—by swapping bodies with another person. However, the shopkeeper assures them that it’s just an old tale and nothing more. After hearing the shopkeeper’s eerie tale, Daya and Babita can’t help but chuckle. The atmosphere in the shop feels lighter as they make light of the situation.
Daya: "Babitaji, aapko nahi lagta yeh kahani thodi zyada hi filmi thi? Sharrir ki adla badli aur ‘sraap’, yeh toh bas purani kahaniyaan hain! Hahah…sundar bhi esi agdam bagdam kahaniya sunata reta tha bachpan mei"
Babita:"Bilkul Daya bhabhi! Aise kahaniyaan bas customers ko impress karne ke liye banayi jaati hain. Aap dekhiye, hum dono is sari ko pehnke dekhte hain, aur kuch bhi nahi hoga!
They share a hearty laugh as they take turns holding the sari up against themselves, admiring how it looks. The shopkeeper watches them silently, his cryptic smile never leaving his face.Daya insists on trying the sari first. She drapes it around herself, spinning in front of a mirror in the shop. As she admires her reflection, she playfully poses as if she were a queen.
Daya:"Dekhiye Babitaji, main toh raani lag rahi hoon! Yeh sari toh meri shaan ko badha rahi hai! Tappu ke papa dekhinge naa toh chakra jayenge “
Babita:"Wah Daya bhabhi, aap sach mein bilkul raani jaise lag rahi hain! Ab mujhe bhi try karna hai."
They exchange places, and Babita drapes the sari around herself. She stands in front of the mirror, smiling and jokingly mimicking Daya’s poses.
Babita:"Lo Daya bhabhi, ab main bhi raani ban gayi! Yeh sari toh sach mein magic jaisa lagta hai!"
They both laugh and continue to make fun of the shopkeeper’s story, completely unaware of the sari’s true power. The shopkeeper remains silent, observing their every move with a knowing look.
After trying on the sari and having their fun, Daya and Babita decide to buy it. They pay the shopkeeper, who hands them the sari with a knowing smile. As they leave the shop, they’re still laughing about the bizarre story.
Daya:"Babitaji, aaj ki shopping toh bohot hi interesting thi! Yeh sari mere wardrobe ka best piece banegi!"*
Babita:"Haan Daya bhabhi, aur jo kahani humne suni, woh toh hum hamesha yaad rakhenge! Hahaha.."
The two friends leave the market, continuing their banter as they head back home. They go their separate ways, each returning to their respective homes, excited to show off their purchase.
Later that evening, Daya and Babita go about their usual routines. Daya eagerly shows the sari to her family, while Babita admires it in her room. The day winds down, and everyone eventually settles in for the night.
As the clock strikes midnight, a strange energy begins to fill the air around both Daya and Babita. The sari, tucked away in their wardrobes, starts to emit a faint, eerie glow. Neither of them notices as they sleep soundly, unaware of the magic that’s about to take place. It's the middle of the night. The streets outside are quiet, and the only sound in Daya and Babita's homes is the ticking of clocks. Both women are fast asleep in their respective bedrooms when suddenly, as if under a spell, they begin to stir.Without waking, Daya and Babita slowly rise from their beds, their eyes glazed over as they move with an unnatural grace. Both women are in a state of sleepwalking, driven by the unseen power of the cursed sari.
Daya: In Gokuldham, Daya gently opens her wardrobe, pulling out the sari with a serene yet eerie expression. She drapes it around herself, adjusting it perfectly despite being fast asleep.
Babita In her home, Babita mirrors Daya’s actions, her movements precise as she wraps the sari around herself in her darkened room. The same eerie glow from earlier begins to faintly emanate from the fabric.
( scary haunted music plays in the background)
Once the sari is fully draped, both women quietly return to their beds, lying down as if nothing had happened. The room grows darker as the sari’s glow intensifies briefly, then fades away.
Suddenly, a strange energy pulses through their bodies. Their forms begin to shift subtly, the transformation process beginning.
The camera shows Daya and Babita side by side, their faces reflecting brief flashes of light as the transformation takes hold. Features begin to morph slowly—Daya’s face begins to take on Babita’s characteristics, while Babita’s starts to resemble Daya.-Their body language, even in sleep, starts to change. Daya’s gentle, caring demeanor subtly shifts to reflect Babita’s elegance, while Babita’s poised and graceful posture softens to Daya’s lively and warm energy.
Morning
(GOOD MORNING GOKULDHAAAM!)
It’s a typical morning in the Gada household. Jethalal, as usual, is sleeping in late, snoring softly, when suddenly he hears a familiar, yet different, voice trying to wake him up.
- **Voice (off-screen):** *"Tapu ke papa, uthiye... arey uthiye toh sahi... arey Bapuji aapko phir daantenge!"
The camera shows a hand gently shaking Jethalal's shoulder. The hand is slender, delicate—unlike Daya’s usual touch. But Jethalal, still half-asleep, groans and turns over.
Jethalal (mumbling): "Kon hai bhai... merko sone do."*
Voice (off-screen): *"Arey uthiye, 9 baj gaye hain! Bapuji chadi se peetenge aapko phir se!"*
The urgency in the voice finally gets through to Jethalal. He groggily opens his eyes, ready to mutter a complaint, but as he turns to look, he’s struck with an unimaginable sight.
(audio effect ~ Babitas music plays)
Visuals:
The camera slowly pans up from the black sari draped around the figure, showing the intricate details of the fabric, and then finally up to the face— Babita ji standing there, in his bedroom, wearing Daya’s sari!
Jethalal’s eyes widen in shock, his mouth drops open, and for a moment, he’s completely speechless. AAAAAAAA
Jethalal’s Internal Thoughts:
Yeh... Babita ji? Mere bedroom mein? Yeh kaise ho sakta hai!?" "Yeh sapna hai, yeh sapna hai!“
He pinches himself hard, hoping to wake up from this bizarre dream, but nothing changes. Babita—no, Daya in Babita’s body—stands there, looking at him expectantly.
Jethalal (in disbelief):"Babita ji... aap... yahaan...?"(mumbles)
But before he can process what’s happening, the figure speaks again, in that same familiar yet different voice.
Babita (Daya in Babita’s body ): "Arey, Tapu ke papa, abhi bhi so rahe ho? Jaldi se uthiye, Bapuji aate hi honge!"
Jethalal’s heart races as he struggles to make sense of the impossible situation. He looks around the room, trying to convince himself that he’s still dreaming, but everything feels all too.
Jethalal is still grappling with the sight of Babita ji in Daya’s sari, standing right in his bedroom. He’s pinched himself, questioned his sanity, and is caught in a loop of disbelief.
Unaware of the body swap, Daya (in Babita’s body) decides to wake Jethalal up in her usual affectionate way. She leans in closer with a warm smile , thinking she’s just waking up her husband.
Daya (with Babita’s appearance):"Arey Tapu ke papa, aap hamesha itna sotey kyun ho? Dekhiye, aaj toh main aapko pyar se uthaungi!"
Jethalal, still dazed, watches as Daya (in Babita’s form) pulls him into a tight, affectionate hug. The feel of the hug is warm and familiar, but seeing Babita ji doing this sends Jethalal into a mix of joy and confusion.
Jethalal’s Internal Thoughts:
- *"Yeh... Babita ji... mujhe hug kar rahi hain? Yeh kya ho raha hai!? Main... main sapna dekh raha hoon ya... sach mein?"
His heart races as he tries to process the surreal moment. The combination of joy and disbelief becomes overwhelming.
Jethalal’s eyes widen, his face flushes, and his breath quickens. The shock of what he’s experiencing is too much for him to handle. As Daya (in Babita’s body) tightens the hug, Jethalal’s mind goes blank.
Just before he faints, he catches a last glimpse of what appears to be his dream come true.
The shock of happiness is too much for Jethalal, and he faints in Daya’s arms.
-Daya (still thinking she’s in her own body):*"He Ma Mataji! Yeh Tapu ke papa ko kya ho gaya? Uthiye, uthiye!"*
She shakes him gently, but Jethalal is out cold, a blissful, unconscious smile on his face.
As the camera transitions from the Gada household, it shifts to the peaceful morning at Babita’s house. The sun is rising, casting a warm glow over the balcony where Babita (in Daya’s body) is energetically doing push-ups, something completely out of character for Daya.
- The camera focuses on the balcony, showing Babita (in Daya’s body) in a vigorous workout session. Despite her new body, Babita’s athletic habits have kicked in, and she’s effortlessly doing push-ups, not noticing anything strange about her situation yet.- In the background, the bedroom door is slightly ajar, showing Iyer still fast asleep, unaware of the morning workout happening just outside.
Dialogue (Internal Thoughts - Babita)
- Babita (in her mind):”Aaj toh energy kuch zyada hi lag rahi hai! Push-ups karna itna aasan kab se ho gaya?"*
The camera shows Babita in Daya’s body, fully immersed in her workout, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. She continues doing push-ups with ease, feeling a strange surge of strength and stamina. The episode concludes with a dramatic monologue from Taarak Mehta, setting the stage for the next episode’s developments. The camera shows Taarak sitting at his desk, looking contemplative and concerned.
Taarak Mehta’s Monologue:
- Taarak Mehta (looking directly at the camera):"He Bhagwaan, yeh kya ho gaya! Gokuldham Society ke do gharon mein aaj subah se ek ajeeb aur anokha halchal mach gaya hai. Daya Bhabi aur Babita ji ki body swap ka yeh paheli sabko confuse aur shock mein daal diya hai. Kya Daya Bhabi ki body mein Babita ji ko apne naye roop ka ahsaas hoga? Aur kya Jethalal ko yeh sab sach mein sapna lag raha hai? Yeh toh sirf shuruaat hai, dekhte hain agle episode mein yeh kahani kahan tak jaati hai. Tab tak ke liye, yeh hi soch rahe hain ki Bhagwaan humare society ke members ko yeh challenge kaise face karne wala hai jab unhe pata chalega ki do mahilaon ka shareer aapas mei adla badli ho gya hei!
A brief montage of Daya (in Babita’s body) continuing her push-ups and Jethalal still unconscious in his bedroom plays in the background.
