Anyone else feel that the revival felt out of touch?

SG was obs not a gritty realistic show. God knows I never wanted it to be. But the the S1-6 felt like they captured the sprit the zeitgiest of the 2000s. But so much of the rivial just feels artifical, there are so many moments that make Kiernan and Hemphill look out of touch.

Like Navid getting a self service check out and everyone acts like its the Tardis or some Star Trek gadget. I get they are old but self service checkouts had been the norm for years. Maybe if SG took place in Shetland i could buy it. But in Glasgow? A shopping city? Have they not been to Asda in the last 15 years?

Or Winston calling a square slice a "flat saussage". No one says that. No one, thats the sort of thing someone who dosent speak english as a frist language would say. How do they not know that?

The whole viral video episode feels like something out 2010. Why do the younger characters like Boabby act like the internet is a new thing? That makes no sense, for an under 65 unless you are North Korean defector. That whole episode screems "hello fellow kids". That scene of Winston on stage at the end is just embrassing. The audiance's acting is so wooden it makes Jake Lloyd look like Tom Hanks.

The famous "do you like the playsyation" bit was funny cause it was J+V being out of touch. Now its K+H who are out of touch.
