How would you make Galctic Doorstep origin better?

Just watched Ep3o's video on the orign and then began thinking on ways to improve it and make it actually considered an option to pick. I thought it could be changed to include any of these options, maybe all maybe only one.

Have the completion of the story events give the full tech or at least 50% - 75% of the tech progress.

Have it link to a small, maybe 3 system, extra galactic cluster with a gaia world? Or some terraformable worlds, or a special, new precursor system.

Make gateways very cheap to build and upgrade.

Give empire a 1.5x modifier to roll movement tech. Like thrusters, hyperdrives, hyper relays and such.

More lore flavour?

But yeah those where my ideas, how would you improve it?
