Why doesn't Gary Card get his credit?
I was watching Jumpman's last video about young sprint stars. On the list of u18 100m records there were notable names like obviously Gout, Knighton, Puripol Boonson and Christian Miller. But in the list I saw a name I didn't recognize, Gary Card from Jamaica. He is 17, only half a year older then Gout Gout and I haven't seen anything about him. To add to my amazement I saw that he ran the time with a neutral wind, unlike Boonson and Miller who ran with 1.4+ and 2.0+. Its still very impressive from those guys but Card did his run only 1 hundredths of a second slower, if we correct for the times he would be number 1. He placed first in the Jamaican junior championships, where he ran his pb of 10.07, sixth at the junior world championships and won the 4x100 with the team. I think he deserves more attention, just because it seems like no one is acknowledging his 100m time and improvement he made. I guess you can see this as an appreciation post but I had to make it.
