Was the Clark/Lois love lost on you because of Lana?

I'm on the first episode of season 9 after watching the season where Lana is forced to leave Clark forever.

Now, they are pushing Clark and Lois together, but it feels forced.

Lois just seems like a consolation prize because Lana isn't there anymore. Like Clark is thinking to himself, "Eh, now that the love of my life is forced to live away from me, I guess Lois is a good stand in." It's hard to believe that now Clark is so madly in love with Lois after Lana left.

I don't know if it's the very, very slow build up, or Lana and Clark leaving on good terms, especially after all that happened with Lana and Lex. Maybe it's the way that now Lois is hero worshiping the "Red Blue Blur," which seems a bit out of character for her. Or how Lois and Clark were going to kiss and then Clark saw Lana and Lois was tossed to the side. I have no idea what it is, but at this point, I'm not buying the love between Lois and Clark.

How do you feel about the match up?
