Diagnosed with severe apnea at 29, freaking out

So I’m a m29, been having problems with sleeping for years. Tired, fatigued, brain fog. I used to smoke a lot of weed so thought it had something to do with that, but am clean for about 1,5 years now. Went to have a sleep study and turned out I have severe sleep apnea (49 times per hour) and I’m getting a cpap. Thing is what I read online really scares me, it’ll be a while before I get my cpap. Apparently the chances of getting a heartattack are 10 times more when you’re 20-29?! I know not everything on the internet is true, but I’m kinda freaking out.

How did you guys handle getting the diagnosis and how did cpap treatment work out for you?

Edit: thanks for all the kind words and encouragement guys :)
