Accidentally bought rental model skis
I recently went to my local Play it Again Sports looking for a first pair of non-rental skis. The employee directed me to a set of new (in plastic) 23/24 Volkl Deacon 76s, which seemed to fit the bill for a intermediate/advanced NE skier, and which wouldn't break the bank at ~$400 including bindings and a mount. What I didn't know at the time was that the skis are a rental model, not the retail version, and come with demo bindings. I'm not expecting any outstanding issues with the skis themselves, but I wonder if anyone has more information on the rental vs retail models of these particular skis or if I should be questioning the retail saw of rental skis, especially at that price.
