SIB Baldur's Gate 3 or Elden Ring?

I'm a big fan of open world games and I've heard great things about both Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring. I'm wanting to buy one and I wanted to see which one people would recommend. I don't mind roleplaying games and building my characters as I like the flexibility of the way you can customize your characters. I've played other open world games but not something of this caliber. Depending on the grind I would like to be able to sort of speed run the building characters part but I don't mind spending time min-maxing my characters. I've played other games like Genshin Impact or Minecraft if you wanna talk open world games. I would be playing the game on my pc or my Steam Deck. Thanks in advance!
