If you're buying a house and work in Seattle, would you pick Seattle or somewhere nearby like Bellevue, Everett, or Sammamish? My husband and I both work in downtown Seattle, so I’m leaning toward staying in the city. This will be a short term home, like 5 to 7 years. Later we might move to a different place. But when I look at houses, the good ones are in bad neighborhoods, and the ones in decent areas are either in poor condition or way overpriced. $750-850k for a two-bedroom condo feels like too much, especially with HOA fees.
