April 2023 SAT Difficulty Ratings
Hey everyone!
I got the data analyzed for the two April School Day exams. Here's an example of one of the difficulty polls. A score of 5 is the absolute hardest, and a score of 1 is the absolute easiest.
Conclusions
- Both of these exams scored fairly average rankings. No section of either test wandered into the red or green territory of difficulty. No data point here was more than 0.9 standard deviations from the mean.
- April 12 was perhaps easier than the average except for the no-calculator section.
- There's not a lot more to say than this. Based only on this data, expect normal curves across the board for these tests. Note that the April 25 test only had 81 responses though, which is a sufficient but not desirable amount to make inferences on.
Ratings
There are 37 tests in this dataset, so the rankings below are from 1st to 37th, with 1st being the hardest and 37th being the easiest. The table below links to images of the rankings by date, each section, and the overall average. Red = hard, yellow = middle, green = easy.
