I fear SJM is Making a Terrible Mistake

Ok, so we know she’s working on ACOTAR 6/maybe it’s close to being done/maybe we’ll get a release date soon. However, I think she’s making a terrible mistake taking this long to write/release it, and we’re going to see CC3 levels of hate (hear me out).

I don’t think CC3 was terrible. I liked it at face value, but I read it immediately after reading 1 and 2. I had 0 theories about what might happen, and was not expecting any storyline related to the ACOTAR characters. People had read 2 when it came out, saw the ACOTAR characters there, and spent 2 years theorizing what would happen. When their fan theories didn’t happen, a lot of people were disappointed. I know some people just didn’t like it, and felt a different person wrote it, but my opinion has always been that a lot of people were just upset it wasn’t ACOTAR 6/didn’t live up to the hype.

I fear the same thing is going to happen with ACOTAR 6. It’s been 4, will maybe be 5 years between ACOSF and #6. We’ve spent that time theorizing who the book will be about, who the couple will be, and a variety of other wild fan theories. ACOTAR 6 is going to come out and people will have been waiting for so long, and come up with their own ideas, that I think it’s bound to be disappointing to most.

ETA: I do not care, I will still read the book and like it for what it is. However, from a marketing perspective, I see it not going well.
