Cutting hair after syphilis

Hi. I tested positive for syphilis. I learned at the doctors office that hair loss is a symptom of syphilis. I already got my shots 2 weeks ago.

I did notice my hair thinking and falling out when I brushed it and I assumed it was because maybe this is the year male-pattern baldness kicks in (I’m 26). I feel like my hair is more brittle, thin in a lot of places, and it doesn’t seem to hold the hairstyle I usually keep it at.

Im thinking of cutting it low (buzz cut or lower) so it looks more even and I’ll only have new hair growth on my head.

Is this ok? Is it recommended? If you lost some of your hair to syphilis, please let me know what worked for you.
