Push to start & left brake issue?

Good afternoon!

My 2019 Ruckus has recently given me trouble when starting it. When turning the bike on, it always makes that blinking sound (good sign). However, the start button only works sometimes making me kick start the bike. Any ideas what this could be? A shop installed a new battery last week (thought this was the issue) but this problem still occurred before this install.

Another problem is my left brake. The shop won’t pass my bike for the state inspection due to this. The brake gets stuck & keeps the brake lights on, requiring me to move it every time.
