Does improving your skin barrier have any effect on your flushing?

Flushing is my main issue and it mostly comes from internal triggers, not typically topical stuff. I am trying to take better care of my skin and repair my barrier, which I am sure is messed up from all the flushing, but has anyone found repairing their barrier made them flush less - specifically if you have heat as a trigger? Or did it just make the aftermath of flushing easier to take care of?
