Books with big dogs who are teddy bears

So this is pretty random but I know yall will come through for me! I’m looking for some books where one of the MCs has a dog who is “big and scary” to everyone else but is actually a total pile of mush and turns into a traitor by siding with the other MC. Thanks in advance’

Edit to add: not interested in anything where the dog gets hurt or dies. Don’t even recommend because I will not read it
