Backpack traveling with roller skates?

I'm planning a museum and aquarium tour across the east coast, with only my backpack and maybe a satchel. I plan to mostly travel by train right now, with a flight home, so as of right now I am packing a 30L backpack and hip bag. I was originally going to bring my bicycle with me, but I realized I could take my beach bunnies, and that would be WAY easier to deal with when going in and out of places.
For all those who have traveled with their skates, how practical is it? With, without a suitcase? I know beach bunnies are a little heavier than other skate options, and there's also my helmet and gear to pack (skating in dense cities without knee-pads? No thanks lmao).
